SAVANNAH ISLANDS TROUBLE
APRIL 20ST, 2008 TO AUGUST 15th, 2012
Trouble was an imposing and majestic cat, he became the Guinness World Record holder for World's Tallest Domestic Cat in 2011, a record which still stands today...yet he was also much more... Trouble was a fabulous ambassador to the new Savannah cat breed and he was a beloved member of the Maraspini family.
Via his public appearances he introduced thousands of people to Savannah Cats. He and Debby Maraspini travelled all over to cat shows and media events and told his story. Trouble seemed to enjoy all the attention he got, he'd sit up like a king or take a stroll about like he owned wherever he was. He'd happily sit or lay for pictures with people. He completely dispelled any myths about Savannahs being wild or dangerous due to their exotic cat heritage. Debby was always careful to tell people that although Trouble was very large, his littermates weren't and truly all Savannahs were not huge cats. They should be tall and elegant but not all reach his amazing size. Trouble was special, and all of us that ever met him knew that!
Trouble escaped his home on August 15th, and was tragically killed. It is a heartbreaking event and he is mourned by many. We have set up this webpage to recognize Trouble's contribution to the Savannah Breed, but also to allow those that loved Trouble to donate to Savannah Rescue in his name. You can use the Donate button on this page to donate to SV Rescue in Trouble's memory.
